Kelli Ward, the osteopathic physician who failed to beat McCain in Republican primary in 2016, has urged McCain to resign after it was revealed McCain has an aggressive brain cancer.
She said that
"I hope that Sen. McCain is going to look long and hard at this, that his family and advisers are going to look at this and they're going to advise him to step away as quickly as possible. So that the business of the country and the business of Arizona being represented at the federal level can move forward."
She's hoping that McCain would
step away as quickly as possible.
While in normal world people could take the woman as a well-wisher, it's all about politics. She has already taken the opportunity to put her name forward as his replacement. So to her, McCain's brain tumor is an opportunity, sort of a good news, god-sent. She said she'd be a strong choice to replace the senator. In days of Trump
it would seem all Republicans seem to have the need to say they are the best, even if noone else is saying that.
Jeff Flake, a Junior United States Senator from Arizona who has served alongside John McCain (and who also criticized Trump in the 2016 election, asking him to withdraw after the emergence of the "Access Hollywood" tape), and who will be challenging Kelli Ward in the 2018 Republican primary, said about Ward's statements that he was
dumbstruck by her comments. Also McCain's congressional colleagues are standing by him.
McCain, United States Senator from Arizona, promised to return to his post soon.
It was revealed on Wednesday last week that John McCain has been a diagnosed with a type of brain tumor called primary glioblastoma. He is currently getting treatment - chemotherapy and radiation - at the Mayo Clinic.
What would the United States win or lose, should Ward's wet dream become a reality? If McCain would resign and he would be replaced by Ward? The Republicans are currently waiting for McCain to return to vote on a number of issues, from healthcare to things related to the wall,
the greatest wall in the known and unknown universe. McCain has been openly critical about the topics and it's not known how he would actually vote. He's also been critical towards Trump in general. Kelli Ward on the other hand would most likely be more on board with all of those things, and asking for even bolder (Trumpish) healthcare bill.
Kelli Ward is one of Tea Party's favorite daughter. Just a couple of months ago the largest Tea Party group on Facebook held a
Kelli Ward Day to promote her.
Tea Party Tribune said that...
So that should say enough when talking about what could happen if Ward gets her wishes.
Ward calls herself Christian, but his fake well-wishes and the trying to take advantage of Senator John McCain's illness and push her agenda makes her anything but.
