Sarah Palin

Gosh, golly, gee. Jiminy Cricket! Shucks! You betcha! Fuck off!

Unfortunately, back in the circus that was the '08 United States Presidential Election, we, as a collective society, had to bear with more than the desirable earful of Sarah Palin's Midwestern colloquialisms dotting every crevice of her hollow speeches. The reason for the GOP's use of this nobody, who should have been swept under the rug as an embarrassment half a decade ago, was loud and clear at the time and only the fools don't know of it.

Yet, because of her middling, whiny nature, those good souls at Faux Noi-I mean, Fox News, felt that they not only needed to hire her as a contributor once, but twice. A woman who has demonstrated a mountainous lack of understanding of the professional field she wormed her way into twenty-some odd years ago is today routinely summoned on the likes of On the Record, or the O'Reilly Factor, or some other fair & balanced program where she can get the image counseling that she needs. They know how much muck she brings to the table, confusing the hell out of half the audience while infuriating the other, and they count on her to invoke the ridiculous, to argue the incredulous, and to cry the fallacious.

One of her character traits that has permeated and, some-fucking-how managed to prolong her stilted life in the media limelight, no matter how widespread, has been her enormous (and I mean on the scale of the universe, if that's at all possible!) victim complex. This woman has been bitching about being negatively portrayed in the media ever since her inability to capture a wide enough voting base in '08 rang true. And continued she did with her go-to-gal, her tear-cushion in Greta Van Susteren, on a special airing of On the Record, on July 26th. Run by a Scientologist, just to get a hint of the unhealthy dose of crazy, but I digress.

Ailin' Palin said this:
"The only fans that aren't going to bail on this stall play that we're all observing is still, the media, the mainstream media. They're gonna stick with this because they're part of the problem. And it's going to be to the detriment of the profession of journalism. And it will be to the detriment of a free America as we know it. And we saw what happened back in 2008. I believe that's when it started when the media decided to just go along to get along with Obama, ingratiating themselves with him and vice versa."

It's indeed true; Obama had garnered a favorable reception amongst the beltway media, who lauded him as a Kennedy for the new age, amongst other things. Certainly people would have rather placed their bets on a forty-something black man than on a cranky old war-starved POW, so that's what we got. Palin, however, still neglects to admit to her own faults, which generated much of her poor reception those years ago. By constantly citing Obama and the constant (and usually) positive mainstream media coverage, she's displaying a childish lack of humility. Then she felt the need to stab her own party in the back with this gem:

"What we saw was these attempts to destroy the whistleblowers, those who were telling the truth, even in the campaign. Those who were bringing up the name Jeremiah Wright and the racist church that he leads, that Obama was a member of for over 20 years, though I was during the campaign, running for VP, I was banned from talking about Jeremiah Wright and Obama's friend, Bill Ayers, is the character that he befriended and kicked off his political campaign in the guy's living room. Couldn't talk about that. Couldn't talk about Obama's lack of knowledge and job experience and the things that, the things that he said like, uh, American had 57 states, things like that. In the campaign! Greta, this is important for Americans to understand. I was not allowed to talk about things like that because those elitists, those who are the brainiacs in the GOP machine running John McCain's campaign at the time, said that the media would eat us alive if we brought up these things. So what did that get us, though? What that got us, this kind of complacency and a self-censoring of a campaign where we weren't allowed to tell the truth about who this candidate was, Barack Obama? What it got us was a list of these scandals."

Barack Obama was, indeed, once a disciple of Jeremiah Wright, but that was in the past, and since then the two have disavowed one another. Obama had written about Bill Ayers, and has casually mingled with him in the past, but Ayers has long since dropped off the face of the Earth as far as anybody is concerned. As far as the half-term quitter is concerned regarding Obama's "lack of experience", she has no business even going there since her profound ignorance of politics in general was put on full display during that electoral cycle.

Yet that's not what this is about; Palin complained that the GOP was holding her back during her '08 VP campaign, yet all she would have done would be to ensure a timely defeat during that madhouse. In the end, she didn't blow any whistles, didn't explain anything new, and most certainly didn't make a lick of sense. Sometimes you need to pull a leash during an election cycle, particularly what you speak of, because if you deem it appropriate to make yourself look like a petty asshole toward your opponent, then you're likely to lose to them. Obama did utter a gaffe with the "57 states" fiasco, but it couldn't compare one iota to the numerous, ominous idiocy she had displayed on one interview after another. She was so infamously terrible in handling interviews that it became well known that her campaign advisers urged her to avoid the press. This woman required a barrage of flash cards in order to even stand a chance in that election.

What we have here folks, is a petty, malicious woman who has no qualms about throwing her allies, former or otherwise, under the bus in order to paint herself as a victim. It doesn't help her at all that she is obnoxious and difficult to understand, since she tries desperately to come off as more intellectual, more eloquent than she actually is. As a result, she often does nothing but toss word salads, throw around mid-western colloquialisms (without the charm seen in the likes of the film Fargo) in a howitzer-like fashion, and tie her own tongue in a knot trying to explain whatever happens to be on her mind, or on the teleprompter. And that last bit is based on the assumption that she can even read.

As mentioned before, this woman needs to be dusted under the rug AND thrown in the trash once & for all. She has no business maintaining any public relevancy. She has no genuine points or issues to divulge to any audience, and she most certainly serves no use anymore to anybody, political or not. Last but not least, she is a whiny bitch who is not to be trusted personally, and seemingly has few reservations attacking people involved with her when she deems it suitable. At this point she serves to remind the public of the anachronism that she is, and to remind the entire world just how close we all came to having a complete dunce just one old fart's heartbeat away from pushing the proverbial big red button.
